Digital Goa, August 8 – Goa Public Universities Bill, 2025 — aimed at establishing and collaborating public universities in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 — has been referred to the Select Committee by the state legislative assembly. Select Committee chaired by Subhash Shirodkar will have Ganesh Gaonkar, Reginald Lorenco, Advocate Carlos Ferreira, Vijay Sardessai, Viresh Borkar, Cruz Silva, Dr Deviya Rane, Nilesh Cabral, Digambar Kamat, and Dr Chandrakant Shetye as members. Incidentally, NEP mandates that by 2035, all affiliated colleges must evolve into degree-awarding, multidisciplinary autonomous institutions.
