Digital Goa, August 19 – In the wake of Monday night’s current leakage incident at Mapusa market, where a man received an electric shock after power leaked into water on the road near the Shakuntala statue, Power Minister Sudin Dhavlikar said the problem was caused due to the cutting of a streetlight wire on an electric pole by an unidentified person. The cut wire touched water, causing the entire area to give shocks, he explained. The incident, reported around 8 pm, led to immediate disconnection of power supply in the market by the electricity department. Shopkeepers had alerted the department after the man was injured. Dhavlikar informed that the issue was rectified within an hour and the wire replaced.
