Subsidy scheme for manures, fertilizers and biogas units announced

Digital Goa, August 29 – Directorate of Agriculture has notified the “Development of Manures & Fertilizers” scheme to help farmers improve soil fertility and promote organic farming. The scheme provides financial assistance to farmers for soil conditioners, micronutrients, biogas plants, organic manure units and vermi-compost units. Under the scheme, farmers will get 75% subsidy up to ₹6,000 per hectare for soil conditioners like lime, dolomite and rock phosphate, and 75% subsidy up to ₹7,500 per hectare for micronutrients such as zinc, boron and magnesium sulphate. The benefit is available for a maximum of 4 hectares per farmer. Subsidy is also offered for biogas plants, organic manure and vermicompost units. Farmers with a Krishi Card and Soil Health Card (not older than two years) are eligible to apply. Additionally, institutions and private companies engaged in agriculture can also avail of the scheme.
