Goa to begin voter roll revision under phase-II of nationwide SIR from November 4 along with 11 other states

Digital Goa, October 27 – The Election Commission of India has announced that the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will commence on November 4 across 12 states and Union Territories, including Goa. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar informed that the second phase will cover over 51 crore voters nationwide. The draft electoral rolls are scheduled to be published on December 9, 2025, while the final voter lists will be released on February 7, 2026. Goa’s electoral officials will begin the enumeration process next month as part of this nationwide voter roll verification and updating exercise. The other participating states and UTs in phase-II include Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. CEC also informed that the voter lists of all states where SIR will be conducted will be frozen at 12 midnight tonight.
