Digital Goa, Oct 27 – A clean and transparent voter list is the bedrock of democracy, said CM Pramod Sawant while welcoming the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across 12 States and Union Territories, including Goa. Sawant added that the state supports efforts to maintain accurate and up-to-date rolls containing only genuine, eligible voters. He said the revision drive will help identify discrepancies, remove ineligible entries, and enhance the integrity of Goa’s electoral process. As per ECI data, Goa has 11.85 lakh electors, 1,725 polling stations/BLOs, 669 political party PLAs, 80 EROs/AEROs, and 2 DEOs.
