Digital Goa, Nov 16 – Era of traditional cooperative societies is over, said CM Pramod Sawant today, asserting that no new permissions should be granted to such entities as many have become avenues to “loot people.” He stressed the need to rethink and build cooperative movements in new sectors. Sawant added that the upcoming Goa State Cooperation Policy 2025 will enable new-age cooperative models in tourism, fisheries, waste management, and rural innovation. Speaking at the 72nd All India Co-operative Week 2025, themed “Cooperatives as Vehicles for Atmanirbhar Bharat,” Sawant highlighted Goa’s strong cooperative legacy since Liberation.
