Digital Goa, November 30, 2025 – A major fire broke out at a scrapyard in Birla, Zuarinagar, Sancoale in the early hours of Sunday, prompting a massive firefighting response. Fire tenders from Vasco, Panaji, Ponda, Goa Shipyard, and MPA were deployed to contain the blaze. One scrapyard was completely gutted, but timely action helped prevent the flames from spreading to 15–20 neighbouring scrapyards. The fire, reported at around 2:23 am, was brought under control after several hours. The exact cause remains unknown. This incident comes just days after a similar fire on November 19.
