Digital Goa, December 5 – Election Commission of India has approved the rationalisation and re-arrangement of polling stations across the state as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll with January 1, 2026 as the qualifying date. Goa had 1,725 polling booths prior to rationalisation. Following review, eight new booths will be created — one in North Goa and seven in South Goa — while two existing booths in South Goa will be deleted. With these changes, the total number of polling stations in the state will now increase to 1,731, including 820 in North Goa and 911 in South Goa.
