ZP polls: Food outlets near polling stations to remain shut on poll and counting day; crowd restrictions imposed

Digital Goa, December, 17 – The District Magistrate of North and South Goa have ordered the closure of all restaurants, bars, tea shops, paan shops, eateries and other food joints, including dhabas and gaddas, located within a 100-metre radius of polling stations falling under Zilla Panchayat Constituencies in Goa. As per the order, these establishments shall remain closed from 6 am to 9 pm on the day of polling, December 20, 2025. Similar restrictions will apply near counting centres, where food outlets within 100 metres will remain closed from 6 am until the completion of vote counting on December 22, 2025. In addition, the District Magistrate has prohibited any gathering or crowd of more than five persons within 200 metres of polling stations in the Zilla Panchayat Constituencies of Goa with certain exceptions.
