Digital Goa, Dec 28- South Goa resident was allegedly duped of ₹5 lakh on the pretext of being offered a job abroad. Porvorim Police have registered a case of cheating against 2 persons. The victim Baban Gawade, a resident of Calvaddo, Varca has filed a complaint in this regards. The complainant stated that between September 2024 and the present date, at Porvorim, two persons — Dennis Carvalho, who reportedly operates from an office at Porvorim, and Rahul Bhagadkar, a resident of Mumbai — allegedly induced him to pay money by promising overseas employment. According to the complaint, the accused collected ₹5 lakh from the complainant on different occasions through cash and GPay. However, they allegedly failed to secure the promised job and did not refund the amount, thereby cheating him.
