Digital Goa, Jan 16 – A woman from Comba in Margao was robbed of a laptop, mobile phone, and other valuables after being assaulted by an intruder yesterday night. The woman sustained a throat injury but survived the attack. The accused allegedly entered the house by removing the roof tiles. He then assaulted her and slit her throat on the side with a sharp weapon. The victim told police that the assailant threatened her, saying she would die within half an hour and asked her to hand over valuables in the house. Displaying presence of mind, the woman managed to latch the room door and escape through the back door. She alerted neighbours, who rushed her to hospital for treatment and informed the police. The accused reportedly fled the scene after stealing a laptop and a mobile phone. Margao Police have detained a person who was trying to sell a laptop and mobile near Margao Railway station on suspicion.
