Digital Goa, Jan 16- In a chilling incident, a 37-year-old Russian woman, Elena Kasthanova, was found murdered in a rented room at Bamanbhati, Arambol. According to police, the accused, 37-year-old Aleksei Leonov, also a Russian national, allegedly assaulted Kasthanova, restrained her by tying her hands behind her back, inflicted multiple injuries, and slit her neck with a sharp weapon. The complaint was registered on 16 January 2026 at 2:04 am by the homeowner, with Mandrem Police Station. The accused was arrested later the same day at 10:03 am.
One more Russian woman has also been found dead in a rented room in Arambol area and further details in the matter are awaited.
