Civic Polls in Panaji on March 11; more than thirty-two thousand voters on rolls; Counting on March 13

    Digital Goa, Feb 16 – The State Election Commission has declared that elections to the 30 wards of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) will be conducted on March 11, 2026. The counting of votes and announcement of results will be held on March 13 at the Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Stadium, Bambolim. As per the notified schedule, nomination papers can be filed from February 17 to February 24. Scrutiny of nominations is slated for February 25, while candidates can withdraw their nominations on February 26. The final list of contesting candidates will be published the same day.Voting will take place on March 11 between 8 am and 5 pm using ballot papers. For the exercise, 48 polling booths will be established across the city’s 30 wards.The total electorate in the CCP area stands at 32,496 voters, comprising 15,225 men and 17,271 women. The voter list is not as per SIR as the final Goa electoral roll as per SIR will be released on Feb 21. The Commission has capped the maximum election expenditure for each candidate at Rs 2.5 lakh. With the announcement of the poll schedule, the Model Code of Conduct has come into immediate effect in the jurisdiction of city of Panaji.
