Speaker Gautam Khattar left Goa before the FIR was registered against him, SP Gurudas Kadam confirmed, adding that a police team will be dispatched to track him down. Six complaints have been received against him so far. The controversy erupted after a video of Youtuber Khattar making alleged objectionable remarks against St Francis Xavier while delivering a speech at Vasco event, went viral. Congress leader Peter D’Souza filed the initial complaint at Vasco police station in this regards. We have received a total of six complaints informed SP. Several complaints have been filed across Goa against Khattar in the matter with people across Goa demanding his arrest at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman has expressed “deep pain and anguish” over hateful remarks made against Saint Francis Xavier.
