Afghan national held at Dabolim airport for allegedly using forged Indian passports

    Digital Goa, May, 10 – An Afghan national was arrested at Goa International Airport, Dabolim, for allegedly travelling on fraudulently obtained Indian passports while impersonating himself as Indian citizens. According to a complaint filed by the Bureau of Immigration at Dabolim Airport, the accused, identified as Diwraj Hiro, a native of Kandhar, Afghanistan, presently residing at Kailash, Delhi arrived in Goa Goa via Bahrain from Russia, in the wee hours of May 10. During verification, immigration officials allegedly found him travelling on a fraudulently obtained Indian passport by impersonating himself as “Anil Shukla” of Kailash, Delhi. Investigation further revealed that he had allegedly earlier obtained another Indian passport under the fake identity of “Suresh Ahuja”. Police said the accused had travelled in and out of India multiple times since 2009 using an Afghan passport. He had allegedly renewed his Afghan passport outside India and re-entered the country on January 2, 2016.
