Digital Goa, May 15 – Prominent Goan physiotherapist, social worker and Congress leader Dr Ketan Bhatikar passed away on Friday morning after a suspected reptile bite while travelling through Anmod Ghat. He was 42. As per preliminary information he was brought to Primary Health Centre at Dharbandora from Mollem around 3.30 am. He was declared brought dead by the doctors at PHC.
Dr Bhatikar was a well-known political figure in Goa who had recently joined the Congress after leaving MGP. He was the Congress candidate for the April 9 Ponda Assembly by-election which was cancelled following High Court order.
Expressing grief over his demise, Goa Congress said, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of party leader Dr. Ketan Bhatikar. His unwavering dedication, commitment to public service and contribution to the party and society will always be remembered with great respect and gratitude.”
