Digital Goa, June 5 – Captain of Ports Department has directed barge owners, watersports operators, canoe owners, docks and shipyards to take steps to prevent mosquito breeding during the monsoon.Owners have been instructed to avoid water stagnation in barges, boats, tyres and dock areas by regularly draining accumulated rainwater. Boat owners have also been advised to cover vessels or keep them upside down when not in use. Vessel and dock operators have been directed to ensure workers are screened for malaria and issued health cards by the Directorate of Health Services.
