Digital Goa, July 5 – A fourth criminal complaint has been registered against a jeweller from Headland Sada, Mormugao, over allegations of refusing to return pledged gold ornaments. According to Mormugao Police, a lady from Cortalim alleged that jeweller Bhimappa Chalwadi had advanced loans of ₹40,000 and ₹14.20 lakh against gold ornaments pledged on two occasions in November and December 2025. She claimed to have repaid ₹5.50 lakh by cheque and later offered to clear the remaining loan with interest, but the accused allegedly refused to return the ornaments, claiming they had been melted.
