Digital Goa, Nov 15 – Goa Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) has decided to extend the validity of the “COVID-19 amnesty scheme” for industries till November 30. The amnesty scheme was introduced on June 23 this year. The scheme aims to alleviate the financial burden and offer support to industries affected by Covid-19 pandemic, including the disruption of supply chains, decreased demand, and operational challenges. IDC aims to revive over 600 non-functional industrial units which were impacted by the pandemic and other challenges. Under the scheme, the penal interest imposed on industries that have failed to pay premiums, interest on premiums, and lease rent has been significantly reduced to 5 per cent.
