Digital Goa, Feb 9 – Goa govt will ask the mining companies to give an affidavit before the court that they will not take up any excavation near the houses and temples which fall in the lease area, CM Pramod Sawant assured the house today. He further went on to add that although E-auction for 3 mining blocks has been completed, the lease agreement has not yet been signed. Of the 3 blocks e-auctioned in the area, only Vendanta Company has received the Environment Clearance, he informed. CM was speaking on the calling attention raised by Bicholim MLA Dr Chandrakant Shetye pointing out that various schools, residential, temple and other domestic and commercial structures exist in the current earmarked demarcation of the leased mining area done by the mining Department. The MLA sought detailed demarcation before the signing of lease agreement. Once the lease is in their hands their only goal would be to make as much money as possible and they will not pay heed to problems faced by people, he asserted.
