Rain continues to cause havoc in Goa; disrupts normal life

Aug 1 – Rain continued to lash most parts of North Goa all through the day. IMD has downgraded the red colour alert to orange alert in its nowcast issued at 4.30pm. Light to Moderate (5-15 mm/hr) rainfall with strong surface wind gusting to 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at many places across Goa during next 1-3 hours. At 3.42 pm clouds are present over talukas of North and South Goa district and more clouds are approaching from the Arabian Sea. Other talukas are likely to get affected as the clouds are developing and moving in Eastwards direct, stated the IMD nowcast.
