Govt govt may take back land allotted to GCA for International Cricket stadium at Dhargal if they ‘fail to comply’ : Govind

Aug 19 – State Sports Dept has issued a notice to Goa Cricket Association(GCA) seeking clarification as to why the work of the proposed International Cricket stadium has not as yet been started by them in the 1,89,930 sq mtr land at Dhargal allotted to them by the govt for the purpose. If they fail to comply, govt will take back the allotted land, warned Sports Minister Govind Gaude. He informed that the notice was already sent to GCA and they have already replied to the notice. Govt is studying the legal aspects of the reply, he added. Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA) has acquired land admeasuring 9,19,789sqm at Dhargal, Pernem. Of this 1,89,930sqm has been allotted to the GCA for the construction of a cricket stadium.
