Dec 12- Sunburn organisers have been granted in-principle approval by the State Tourism Department today to organise the EDM festival at Dhargalim, Pernem from Dec 28 to Dec 30. The permission has been granted for the application made by the organisers to the Department on Nov 13. Empowered Committee for New Tourism Services in its meeting held on Nov 26 had recommended that the permission be given to the EDM Festival.
▪️ Sunburn promoters appeal against Dhargal Gram Sabha resolution opposing EDM Festival
The promoters of the Sunburn Music Festival, Spacebound Web Labs Pvt. Ltd., have filed an appeal against the resolution passed by the Dhargal Gram Sabha opposing the hosting of EDM event in the village. The appeal has been filed under sub-section 6(5) of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, challenging the resolution adopted by the Gram Sabha on November 24. A public notice regarding the appeal has been displayed on the notice board of the Panchayat and the Office of the Block Development Officer (BDO). As per sub-section 6(5) of the Act, “Any person aggrieved by the decision of the Gram Sabha may prefer an appeal to the Director within a period of thirty days from the date of such decision, and the Director’s decision on such appeal shall be final.”
