Dec 13- Goa Police have come under severe criticism following the escape of a notorious criminal from the police custody. All the opposition parties took the opportunity to point out the lowering policing standards in the state and rising political interference. This is the result of Goa Police focusing on the movements of the opposition rather than catching the criminals, said AAP Goa President Amit Palekar. Congress President Amit Patkar said that the incident of criminal escaping from the custody is the height of negligence on the part of Goa police. Goa Forward Chief Vijay Sardessai quipped “Accused gets out of lock up like checking out from hotel; excellent customer service from Goa Police. “Everyone is aware of the highest level of political interference in the Police Department and such hospitality wouldn’t have been possible without the green signal from the very top,” he added.
