Digital Goa, July 6- The rain that wreaked havoc across Goa yesterday was the second highest daily rainfall recorded in the state during the current season. Over a 24-hour period ending at 8:30 am today, an impressive 133.6 mm of rain was recorded, not only erasing the rainfall deficit but also pushing Goa into a surplus of 5.8 percent rainfall. In the past four days alone, Goa received nearly 400 mm of average rainfall. The highest daily rainfall of 142.5 mm was recorded on June 28. Canacona witnessed the highest rainfall of 168.8 mm yesterday, closely followed by Panaji with 158 mm. Other stations reported the following rainfall in the last 24 hours: Sanguem – 155 mm, Margao and Mormugao – 140 mm, Pernem – 130.8 mm, Ponda and Dabolim – 126 mm, Mapusa – 125.2 mm, Old Goa – 124.5 mm, Quepem – 120 mm, Valpoi – 84 mm, and Sakhalim – 81.8 mm.
