Goa registers another wet day; IMD warns of more such days ahead

Digital Goa, July 2 – Goa reported yet another wet day with Margao station reporting over 90 mm rainfall in just 11 hours since 8.30 am. Panaji recorded 45 mm rain during the same period. According to IMD forecast incessant rain is likely to continue for next few days in Goa. Normal life continue to get affected by the rain with several incidents of flooding, uprooting of trees, damage to houses and minor accidents were reported across the state. Average 793.7 mm rain was recorded in Goa till 8.30 am today with rainfall deficit of -19.8 percent.
Following rainfall was recorded in major towns of Goa in 24 hours from 8.30 am yesterday to 8.30 am today. Quepem-12 cm; Sanguem-10 cm, Ponda & Sanquelim-6 cm each; Mormugao, Canacona, Ela (Old Goa) & Margao-5 cm each; Pernem, Dabolim & Mapusa-4 cm each; Panjim-3 cm.
