Govt announces holiday for all academic institutions tomorrow in view of IMD alert; college exams to go on as per schedule

    Digital Goa, July 5 – Goa govt has announced a holiday on Thursday, July 6 for all educational institutes in the state in view of heavy rain alert issued by IMD. “In view of the incessant rain and alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department, Goa centre predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall and extremely heavy rainfall over the State of Goa and keeping in mind the safety of young children in the schools, it is decided by the competent authority to declare holiday on 6th July 2023 from Std I to XII in the state of Goa,” states a notice issued by Director of Education Shailesh Zingde. Directorate of Higher Education has also issued a similar circular announcing a holiday tomorrow for all educational institutions under its control. However, where there are examinations scheduled, examinations will not be cancelled and students will have to answer the examination, stated the order issued by Additional Director, Directorate of Higher Education.
