Heavy vehicles banned on Borim Bridge for repair work on two weekends

Digital Goa, November 27 – The Public Works Department has announced temporary traffic restrictions on Borim Bridge to facilitate critical repair work, including replacement of spherical bearings that require a vibration-free environment. As per the order issued by the Executive Engineer of PWD Works Division XV (NH), Ponda, heavy vehicles will be banned on the following dates:

  • November 29 to November 30, 2025 (Saturday 8 am to Sunday 8 am) — closure at the Ponda side
  • December 6 to December 7, 2025 (Saturday 8 am to Sunday 8 am) — closure at the Margao side
    During the closure period, heavy vehicles travelling between Ponda and Margao will be diverted via alternate available routes in coordination with Traffic Police. PWD stated that the temporary ban is essential to ensure smooth and safe execution of pending rehabilitation work on the old bridge.
