Digital Goa, Apr 6 – After the controversial government order to appoint Goa Electronics Ltd (GEL) to operate water sports counters in Goa, Goa govt has now appointed GEL to exclusively manage all Goa govt websites for three years. The circular appointing GEL as State Designed Agency (SDA) to carry out all website related activities such as design, development, hosting, security, audit, GIGV compliance, maintenance and monitoring of all govt, corporations & other govt entities was issued by IT Dept on March 27 . This move is considered to be detrimental to the already beleaguered start up community of Goa. Interestingly, GEL has been exempted from taking no objection certificate from Information Technology Dept for website related activities.
