New State Sports Policy 2025 by December : SAG Director Gaude

Digital Goa, September 15, 2025 – The Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) is set to draft the State Sports Policy 2025 by December this year after a prolonged period of 16 years, informed SAG Director Dr Ajay Gaude after taking charge of his office. Currently, the state follows the Sports Policy 2009. Gaude said the upcoming policy will focus on overall development of sports in the satte, raising coaching standards, ensuring proper upkeep of infrastructure, improving sports equipment management etc. Goa is slated to host major tournaments including the Chess World Cup, the Asian Gymnastics Championship, the Bandodkar Trophy, and the India-Singapore pre-qualifier football match. He added that these events would be leveraged to project Goa as a sports tourism destination
