Porvorim police have arrested a 25-year-old man from Amravati, Maharashtra, for allegedly cheating a senior citizen of ₹1.94 lakh under the pretext of booking an appointment at Goa Medical College(GMC) Hospital.The accused, Sumit Rajesh Ingole, a resident of Masanganj, Amravati, allegedly sent the complainant an APK file to complete the booking. According to the complaint lodged on October 4, the money was transferred from the senior citizen’s bank account without authorisation after he downloaded the file.Police traced the accused to Amravati through technical analysis and arrested him with assistance from local police.
