Digital Goa, Dec 29 – Sunburn Organisers have submitted demand drafts(DD) to the tune of Rs 3.28 crore as occupation charges, derrama, security deposits and other charges to the Anjuna Communidade and the State govt, informed Counsel for Sunburn organisers. Sunburn has paid an amount of Rs 2.43 crore towards the occupation charges payable to the Communidade; Rs 48.62 lakh to the Communidade Administrator as ‘Derrama’ and further amount of Rs 24 lakh to the Director of Civil Administrator and Rs 12 lakh towards 15% security deposit. Communidade Administrator will invest the amount of Rs 2.43 core in nationalized bank until the issue of payment to the Communidade is determined by the Supreme Court in the pending proceedings. The information was submitted before the vacation bench of the High Court which was hearing a petition filed by a villager from Anjuna alleging that the Sunburn organisers had occupied the Communidade property and even started with their music festival without paying any amount whatsoever to the Communidade. The organisers claimed that the delay in paymet was due to non-communication by communidade about the exact rent amount and that they had already submitted cheques but communidade insisted on Demand Draft. The petition has been disposed off in view of the payment made by the organisers.
