Digital Goa, Jan 5 – Agitating taxi operators from Pernem have finally withdrawn their protest following written assurance from the Goa govt that prior commitments made by the govt to the taxi operators from Pernem will be honoured. “Commitment made in Meeting at Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) by Government will be honored with priority for project affected persons in consultation with stakeholders. Blue Cab prepaid taxi service counter at new airport will be with identical terms including fare rate of black and yellow taxi,” states the letter issued to the taxi operators by the Transport Department Director. The operators have been demanding yellow black taxi stand at Mopa Airport exclusively for Pernem Taxi Operators. Goa govt has said that instead of yellow black the colour of the taxis will be blue and that there will be a separate stand for these taxis at the airport. Govt has also issued a public notice inviting applications from Pernem residents for joining prepaid blue airport taxi with notified stand.
