Feb 6 – Two day winter session of Goa Legislative Assembly began with Governor P S Sridharan’s address this morning.
Highlights of Governor’s address
▪️ Goa’ GSDP for 2024- 25 (advance) at Current Prices is estimated at Rs121309.02 crore with a projected growth rate of 13.87% as compared to 13.73% for the year 2023-24.
▪️ GSDP per capita of Rs. 7.64 lakh for the year 2024-25
▪️ FDI equity inflow for Goa from October 2019 to September 2024 is USD 174.79 million
▪️ 100% Direct Benefit Transfer(DBT) benefits of 166 schemes – 61 Centrally Sponsored and 105 State Schemes. Upto Dec 2024 Rs. 275.09 crore DBR transferred to beneficiaries
▪️ Crime detection percentage has gone upto 88.38%.
▪️ 4,91,796 traffic violation cases under MVA registered and fine of Rs. 29.28 crore collected during the current financial year upto Nov 2024.
▪️ Arrested 43 in cash for govt job scam, 3 cases chargesheeted, properties such as, vehicles, gold ornaments, bank accounts and other articles have been seized by the police. Goa Staff Selection Commission established to ensure transparent and merit based recruitment
▪️ Malaria Elimination i.e Zero Indigenous cases and Zero death due to malaria, by 2025.
▪️ Eleven mining blocks are auctioned out of which 2 have started operation. Another 2-3 will start the operation in the next 2 months.
▪️ Eighteen low grade mining dumps have been put for auction with approximate quantity of 52 million tons
▪️ 21% growth in tourist arrival in 2024 as compared to 2023
▪️ 209 titles have been distributed under Forest Right Act in the year 2024.
