Digital Goa, August 19 – The Group of Ministers (GoM) tasked with rationalising Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates and easing compliance burdens will meet on August 20-21 to finalise its recommendations, Finance Ministry officials informed. CM Pramod Sawant will be attending the meeting. The proposals discussed in the GoM meeting will then be placed before the GST Council, which is expected to convene in the third or fourth week of September. Finalising of the reforms announced by PM Modi in his Independence Day address on August 15 is likely to take place during that meeting.
Sawant informed he also has an appointment with PM Narendra Modi in Delhi.
