Govt to onboard TERI for advisory support on mining dump reclamation & waste stabilisation

Digital Goa, Sept 10, 2025 – The state cabinet has approved the appointment of TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) on a nomination basis to provide advisory support for iron ore reclamation and waste stabilisation activities at mining dumps in Goa. CM Pramod Sawant said TERI will help devise measures for dump lifting without disturbing the environment. He added that TERI is taken on board to ensure that environment damage issues do not crop up in future.
Other cabinet decisions include :

  • Approval for post of Dean, Goa College of Veterinary Science
  • Approval for Amendment of Goa Police Service Rule 2022
  • Major dry docking repairs approved for Captain of Port
  • Cabinet ratified onboarding of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) Goa Centre to conduct training under the government’s RAMP program for business management and SHG (Self-Help Group) training under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme of govt of India.
