Digital Goa, October 6, 2025 – Superintendent of Police (North) Rahul Gupta on Monday informed that no politician’s name has surfaced so far in connection with the brutal assault on Rama Kankonkar, but investigation is still underway. Briefing the media, SP Gupta said that Rama has named one person i.e. Minguel, and stated that he would be able to identify others if produced before him. As per Rama’s statement, Minguel had attacked him twice earlier this year at Agacaim, the SP informed. He further added that the police are collecting all available evidence and will file a strong chargesheet before the court based on the findings. Social Activist Rama Kankonkar was brutally assaulted in broad day light on Sept 18 by a group of 6 bike borne assailants and left in the middle of the road. Police have arrested 8 persons including history sheeter Zenito Cardozo in the matter.
