Digital Goa, October 15 – Agriculture Minister and former Chief Minister of Goa, Ravi Naik, passed away following a cardiac arrest at a private hospital in Ponda, where he was admitted last night. He was 79. He began his career as a councillor of the Ponda Municipality and went on to become the Chief Minister of Goa twice during a political career spanning over 50 years. He was also elected to the Lok Sabha in 1998. His followers have been gathering at his residence in Ponda to catch a final glimpse of their leader.
