Digital Goa, June 14 – CM Pramod Sawant has announced that the Goa government is formulating a series of schemes and regulations aimed at improving the welfare of private sector employees, with several measures expected to be introduced within the next two to three months. Pointing out that many youths are reluctant to take up private sector jobs due to lower salaries and shift-based work, he said govt aims to address these concerns through various schemes and regulations. Government is in the process of drafting rules that will make it mandatory for private companies, particularly those operating in IDCs, to provide fair salaries, periodic wage hikes based on experience, and regularisation of employees. Sawant said the government is also considering benefits such as concessions on KTC and Mhaji Bus services, housing assistance, health benefits, and scholarships for children of private sector employees. In addition, the government plans to tie up with two to three universities to facilitate skill development and educational upgradation for private sector workers. He further said that women working in private sector may soon receive bus fare concessions. Employees who have completed 20 years or more in the private sector are being provided a one-time bonus of ₹15,000 as part of a welfare initiative, he informed.Digital Goa, June 14 – CM Sawant said the State Labour Department has begun a drive through Labour Inspectors to personally monitor employment of Goans across Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) estates. Addressing concerns over private companies allegedly giving breaks in service to employees, Sawant said Labour Inspectors have been tasked with collecting IDC-wise data on the number of Goans employed in industries and how many of them have been confirmed in their jobs.
