Digital Goa, June 30 – Goa State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Director Meghana Shetgaonkar on June 30 said the council will constitute an expert review committee to examine all 41 textbooks prepared for Classes 1 to 8 under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and rectify any errors in future editions. “There is always scope for improvement,” she said. Shetgaonkar said around 150 teachers and academicians were involved in preparing the age-appropriate textbooks, with a focus on curricular goals and competency-based learning. Shetgaonkar asserted that SCERT’s focus is the academic interests of students rather than debates over whether the writers are Goans or non-Goans. She said there was limited Marathi content by Goan writers available for younger age groups, while ample such material by Goan writers is available for higher classes.
