Digital Goa, July 12 – Residents of Quelossim, Mormugao, unanimously opposed a proposed entertainment and floating resort project at a special gram sabha held on Sunday. The meeting was convened to discuss the provisional NoC issued by the Mormugao BDO for the project. Villagers expressed concern over the project’s potential impact on the village’s environment, river ecosystem and local culture. The Quelossim Panchayat has gone in appeal against BDOs provisional NoC and is also considering moving the High Court if NoC is not revoked, informed Sarpanch. Cortalim MLA Anton Vaz also attended the gram sabha and extended his support to the villagers.
