Banastari accident case handed over to Crime Branch on public demand

Digital Goa, Aug 18 – Govt has handed over investigation of Banastari horrific accident case to crime branch. Three persons died and three were critically injured in the accident due to drunken driving. There were allegations against Mardol police of botched up investigation to favour main accused who they allege is the owner of car Meghna Sawardekar. A public delegation had met CM few days back demanding handing over of this case to crime branch. The crime branch today took over the case from Mardol police station. All eyes are now on crime branch as to what line of investigation they will be taking and whether they will accept the popular theory that Meghna was driving the vehicle when the accident happened.
