Digital Goa, June 29 – Goa Government may terminate allotments and reclaim plots at the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) at Tuem from companies that have failed to commence production despite being allotted land over two years ago, IT Minister Rohan Khaunte said on Monday. Khaunte said a review of the EMC has revealed that while most plots have been allotted, however some companies have neither started production nor even laid foundation stones despite the passage of more than two years.The minister informed that the EMC has generated interest from sectors such as defence and drone manufacturing, while two to three companies have already begun infrastructure development. He was speaking to media persons afterthe 11th Empowered Committee Meeting under the Goa Startup Policy 2025.He informed that 15 seed funding applications were reviewed today. The government has also sanctioned grants of ₹10 lakh each for setting up incubation centres at the Government College Quepem, Goa College of Engineering, Chowgule College-Margao and Dempo College. Goa currently has 803 DPIIT-recognised startups, of which over 350 are supported by the Startup and IT Promotion Cell (SITPC), he added.
