Digital Goa, Dec 14 – Women from Nuvem whose was accused of harassing daughter-in-law for dowry leading to her suicide by putting herself on fire, has been granted anticipatory bail today. She has been granted bail on personal bond of Rs 50,000. She has also been asked to deposit her passport. Petrocina Fernandes was arrested for allegedly harassing and subjecting her daughter-in-law Samantha Fernandes (age 30 years) to cruelty and demanding dowry. Samantha had allegedly set herself on fire at her residence on August 29. She died on Aug 30. Mother of the deceased had complained to the police in the matter. In view of this, Fernandes was charged for dowry death. Samantha’s body is still awaiting last rights.
