Dec 13- Siddiqui alias Suleiman Khan, the alleged mastermind behind several land grab scam cases in Goa, has escaped from crime branch lockup yesterday night with the help of IRBn constable. According to police, IRBn Constable Amit Naik, who was on guard duty, unlocked Suleiman out at around 2.30 am from the custody and escaped along with him from crime branch using his own bike. Khan, aged 55, was re-arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) (Land Grab) on November 26, 2024, in connection with one of the several property fraud case registered against him. Khan is wanted in 3 cases of SIT LG and was Proclaimed Offender in two cases of North Goa. He also has murder charges against him and was absconding for past 4.5 years. A detailed enquiry into administration of lock up and custody of accused in Crime Branch will be conducted by senior officials, informed senior police officials.
