Dec 27- Crime Branch arrested Shyam Nandlal Chawan (22), a resident of Pixem Dongri, Vasco, for illegal possession of 4 kg of Ganja worth Rs 4 lakh. The contraband was found in a backpack during a raid at Morod, Mapusa. The accused who is a labourer was arrested.

Dec 27 -Directorate of Mines & Geology has extended the last date for receiving online applications from persons from the local community for grant of sand extraction permits in River Mandovi and River Zuari. The last date for submitting online applications is now Jan 10,2025. For details about zone demarcation maps, SOP for the online applications and further details applicants have been asked to visit Directorate’s website https://dmg.goa.gov.in . For any technical assistance DMG has issued control room helpline No. 8882988000. ‘The grant of permits is subject to the Environmental Clearance of the SEIAA’ , states the notice issued in this regards.
