Digital Goa, June 2- Mormugao Port Authority’s (MPA) International and Domestic Cruise Terminal project is set to be completed in the next 3-4 months, informed MPA Chairman Dr N Vinodkumar. The Rs 100 plus crore terminal project is funded by the Sagarmala Scheme, the Union Ministry of Tourism, and MPA. The project was initially scheduled for completion in March 2025. Vinodkumar was speaking at the inauguration of the Portshield Integrated RFID-based access control system at the port. The new system, installed at all gates, requires RFID cards for vehicles and personnel. The system is integrated with the Vahan portal of the Central govt for obtaining real-time data access. This will enhance security and enable CISF to monitor vehicles, drivers, and cargo details effectively, said Chairman. Following recent directives from the Union Ministry of Ports on the backdrop of heightened tension with Pakistan, MPA has started elevating its security to MARSEC Level-2 at all terminals and ships.
