Digital Goa, Aug 25 – Supreme Court today (August 25) rejected former Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal’s plea seeking exemption from surrender and directed him to surrender within two weeks to serve his 10-year prison sentence. Tejpal has been asked to file a surrender certificate before September 22, following which the Apex Court will hear his appeal challenging his conviction and sentence on merits. High Court had on August 6 overturned Tejpal’s 2021 acquittal in the 2013 rape case, convicted him and sentenced him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.
