Fourth NIT for mining auction in 15 days; smooth mining operations to begin by October: CM

Digital Goa, July 29 – Goa government will issue the fourth Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) for e-auctioning four more mining blocks—two each in North and South Goa—within the next 15 days, CM Pramod Sawant informed the Assembly on Tuesday. Reiterating the government’s commitment to restarting sustainable mining activity in the state, the CM assured the House that smooth mining operations, including the transportation of mining dumps, will begin by October 2025. Sawant said that so far, 12 mining blocks have been auctioned, of which three have already commenced operations, while two more are expected to start within the next two months. He added that the process of granting dump mining permissions to 3-4 mining leaseholders is currently underway. The government also plans to e-auction mining dumps under its ownership, he informed.
